"And the Winner is..."

One of the many attractions on this year's Swiss MedTech pavillion in the 'High-Precision' zone of the Medical Design and Manufacturing show in Anaheim, California, was a 'Visit Switzer-land' raffle, sponsored by Swiss International Airlines and Zermatt Tourism. The raffle was quite popular with the many visitors who were lured to the pavillion by an original Swiss alphorn player, and we are happy to announce the winner of two round-trip business class tickets to visit the world famous 'Matterhorn':   Mr. Jeff Allison   Sr. Product Devlp. Engineer   EV3 Inc., Plymouth, MN 55442 EV3 Inc. is a growing stent manufacturer with interesting technology, listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Congratulations from the entire Swiss Tec team!

The winner will be able to visit one or more of the exhibiting companies of his choosing during his mstay in Switzerland to get better acquainted with the technologies employed, state-of-the-art product design methods used and advanced levels of factory automation prevailing in Switzerland.

The Swiss MedTech pavillion was organised by the Swiss Business Hub in Chicago (the US arm of the world-wide 'Business Network Switzerland'). It showcases about
one dozen Swiss companies specialising in quality manufacturing products and services for the medical device industry (below).



The Swiss Medtech Pavilion showcases cutting-edge technologies of some of Switzerland's top suppliers of high-precision medical and dental components and machinery. Switzerland is home to over 500 medical technology companies which provide full-time employment to 40.000 qualified people with an export volume of about $ 5 billion annually according to a 2005 survey by Ernst& Young.

Technology roots for this sector are found in the tradition of the micro-precision-oriented watch industry, combined with strong university-based R&D in biotechnology and drug development.
